Tobacco Board Executive Director T.Venkatesh has been appointed as chairman of the board with full additional charge. The Central government issued orders to this effect on Wednesday in the backdrop of Tobacco Board meeting to be held on April 17 in Karnataka state, to fix crop size for the next season.

The Central government issued orders to this effect on Wednesday in the backdrop of Tobacco Board meeting to be held on April 17 in Karnataka state, to fix crop size for the next season.
The board chairman has to fix crop size taking demand into consideration and take steps to get a better price for tobacco.
Tobacco auctions in the state are expected to be completed very soon.
