Later, speaking to the media, the EO said that all TTD contract employees have been brought under the health, accident and life insurance cover schemes of state and central governments. “We are also looking at the same to be applicable to Tirumala locals who are about 3,000,” he added. On the arrangements being made to cope with summer rush, the EO said all the departments are ready to handle the pilgrim influx expected to increase manifold once the examinations were over.

The Annaprasadam wing is ready to provide 50,000 buttermilk packets from this week end till June. The TTD also designed a schedule of menu to be served in the pilgrims waiting in the Vaikuntham compartments. “We have also readied four temporary sheds each for Divya Darshan and Sarva Darshan pilgrims in Narayanagiri Gardens with toilet facilities,” the EO said.

The EO stated the movement of vehicles in the ghat road has been relaxed on a trial basis for an hour till June. “Instead of 12 am to 3 am, the ghat road will be now closed from 12 am till 2 am. This will enable the Arjitha Seva and break Darshan devotees to book rooms in Tirupati, thereby easing pressure in Tirumala for accommodation,” he observed. In the review meeting, senior officers of all departments including CE Chandrasekhar Reddy, Additional FACAO Balaji and others were also present.
