Youth should emulate Dr Ambedkar for just society: Paritala Sunitha
The 126th birth anniversary of B.R.Ambedkar was celebrated with lot of fanfare by SC,ST employees and people\'s organizations in the city on Friday. A galaxy of political leaders including minister for woman and child welfare Paritala Sunitha, Rural Housing minister Kalava Sreenivas, local MLA Prabhakar Choudhury, ZP chairman Chaman Saab and City Mayor M.
Anantapur: The 126th birth anniversary of B.R.Ambedkar was celebrated with lot of fanfare by SC,ST employees and people's organizations in the city on Friday. A galaxy of political leaders including minister for woman and child welfare Paritala Sunitha, Rural Housing minister Kalava Sreenivas, local MLA Prabhakar Choudhury, ZP chairman Chaman Saab and City Mayor M.
Swaroopa and District Collector Kona Sasidhar were among those who garlanded the statue of Ambedkar at the ZP Circle and ZP premises. The ZP circle was filled with hundreds of Dalit activists and SC, ST employees who fired crackers and shouted slogans hailing the architect of the Constitution.Addressing a large gathering, Minister for Woman and Child Welfare Paritala Sunitha said that the nation is proud of Ambedkar who gave the country a Constitution.
He was a great leader of the masses, a social reformer and uplifter of all oppressed classes in the society. She said that the youth should emulate the great leader and take clues for political leadership from him.Rural Housing and Information minister Kalava Sreenivas said that the constitution authored by Dr.B.R.Ambedkar stood the test of times and is relevant even to the changing times.
He said that the country owed a lot to the man who fought for the freedom of oppressed classes. But for a social reformer like Ambedkar, there would have been no hope for the hapless in the society.Local MLA Prabhakar Choudhury said that Ambedkar was a beacon of hope to a world in darkness and ignrance. He fought against untouchability and for a egalitarian society. Because of the constitutional provisions envisaged by Ambedkar, the oppressed classes have come a long way in education, jobs and in social upliftment.
He called upon the SC,ST section of population to take full advantage of the multiple privileges made available by Ambedkar, constitution and the government.District Collector Kona Sasidhar praised Dr.B.R.Ambedkar for his great contribution to the society and particularly the constitution which is the moving force of a free India. He called upon the weaker sections of the society to fly high in life by taking advantage of multiple socio-educational schemes.
