Rich tributes were paid to Babasaheb Dr B R Ambedkar on the occasion of his 126th birth anniversary on Friday.At a function organised in Guntur, TDP state president Kala Venkata Rao on Friday paid floral tributes to the portrait of Dr B R Ambedkar.

Speaking on this occasion, he recalled the efforts made by Ambedkar to uplift the poor. He said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu drew inspiration from him and was implementing several welfare schemes for the SCs. He urged the Dalits to avail the welfare schemes being implemented by the government. He said the TDP government is committed to the development of Dalits.The 126th birth anniversary of the national leader Dr BR Ambedkar was celebrated in a grand manner by the Prakasam district administration and political, Dalit organisations in the district on Friday.
The constitution writer was remembered as a revolutionary yet visionary personality by the public.The Prakasam district administration celebrated the birthday of Ambedkar at A1 convention hall in Ongole. Minister for forests, environment, science and technology Sidda Raghava Rao, In-charge Collector Dr M Hari Jawaharlal, Ongole MLA Damacharla Janardhan and Santyanutalapadu MLA Adimulapu Suresh lit the lamp and paid rich tributes to Ambedkar.
Siddha Raghava Rao lauded Dr Ambedkar as a person who worked relentlessly for the uplift of Dalits and other downtrodden people. He said that the state government is constructing a 125-feet statue of Ambedkar in Amaravati to tell his story to the future generations. He added that the state government has introduced various welfare schemes for giving loans to the SC ST youth to turn him into entrepreneurs.Damacharla Janardhan said that Ambedkar wrote the constitution keeping in view the problems faced by the poor in the country.
He said that with about Rs 40 crore, roads and drinking water facilities were provided in SC ST colonies in Ongole..MLA Adimulapu Suresh said that it is only due to Ambedkar he became an MLA. He requested the public to follow Ambedkar and his ideology. The YSR Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party also organised the birth anniversary celebrations of Ambedkar in their offices while the leaders of various Dalit organisations garlanded the statues of Ambdekar in the district and paid tributes to the leader.
