It is significant that the senior TDP leader took the opportunity of the official public function held to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar 126th birth anniversary here on Friday to assail his government.
Without mincing words, the MP said the TDP failed to fulfill the poll promise that it would give due priority to the community in the government as well as in the welfare activities. The TDP MP said SCs were ignored in the recent Cabinet expansion with only two belonging to the community getting a berth against five it entitled.
“There was no minister belonging to the Scheduled Caste from Rayalaseema,” he said. “The government neglected the welfare of SCs in Chittoor district as it was unable to spend Rs 360 crore provided under the SC--ST sub-plan,” he added.
