Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu held a review meeting with finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, energy minister Kimidi Kala Venkata Rao and officials of various departments at his residence at Undavalli on Saturday, ahead of the scheduled meeting with Telangana ministers on April 17.
It should be reminded that the ministers of Telugu-speaking states will meet in the presence of Governor ESL Narasimhan on resolving the pending contentious issues pertaining to IX and X schedule of AP State Reorganisation Act - 2014.
The officials of the both states are scheduled to discuss the sharing of assets of IX and X Schedule institutions. The state government in its earlier argument contended that 107 institutions listed under Schedule X should be divided between two successor states as per the Act.
While Telangana government is maintaining that the institutions belong to them as they are located in their territory.
In a counter to the Telangana government’s argument, the state government stated that the said institutions were established by investing common resources in the combined state.
It also argued that employees from AP working in these institutions were being discriminated add demanded joint management till the issue was amicably resolved.
As far as IX schedule concerns, both the governments have agreed on the assets of 89 institutions listed and they would be bifurcated based on the report of Sheela Bhide committee.
