Awareness programmes on fire accidents held in Nellore
District Fire Officer (DFO) R Gnana Sundaram gave a call to students to gain knowledge how they can prevent fire mishaps. The DFO along with fire personnel organised an awareness camp at SVR School at Jakeer Hussain Nagar and St Peters English Medium School at Ranganayakula Peta here on Monday. They also took out a massive rally as part of the Fire Safety Week.

The DFO along with fire personnel organised an awareness camp at SVR School at Jakeer Hussain Nagar and St Peters English Medium School at Ranganayakula Peta here on Monday. They also took out a massive rally as part of the Fire Safety Week.
The fire personnel performed mock drill on various mishaps in both schools. Firemen displayed the equipment and explained the students about the precautions to be taken for preventing fire accidents. Gnana Sundaram interacted with students and clarified the doubts raised by them. Speaking at SVR School, the DFO said that there is a need to create awareness to put off fire when mishaps occur in houses.
He also asked the residents to follow safety measures at homes to prevent disasters. He made an appeal to people to turn off gas cylinders after usage. He also said that a special task force has been set up in the district to face any natural disasters and also fire mishaps. Additional DFO P Srinivas Rao and others were present.
