Participating in a review meeting with officials of Finance Department at Velagapudi here on Tuesday, he asked the officials to constantly monitor the growth rate.

The officials explained to the CM that the state is among the top seven states in the country in the collection of commercial taxes. Similarly, Krishna district stands first in the state with Rs 14,684.58 crore commercial tax income while Chittoor is top in the growth rate at 45.95 per cent.

The Centre has to release funds to the tune of Rs 3,358 crore for Polavaram Project, state capital and compensation for revenue deficit for 2016-17.The officials also explained that the tax income realised was Rs 44,055 crore and total revenue earned Rs 99,730 crore.

Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and several officials were present at the meeting.Sabarimala Ayyappa temple invited Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to participate in the function of Golden Dwaja Sthambam launch at the temple premises on June 25.Temple Trust Board chairman Gopalakrishnan and donors Chukkapalli Suresh and Chukkapalli Ramesh met the Chief Minister at his office here on Tuesday. They requested the Chief Minister to attend the function. The new Dwajasthambham was constructed at a cost of Rs 4 crore.
