The crime wing of city police arrested two brothers for theft and recovered 664 grams of gold jewelry from them on Monday. They were involved in 21 property offences spread over many police stations in the region.They were identified as Ragolu Satyam (43) and his younger brother Ragolu Krishna (35), both natives of Talada area under Santhakaviti mandal in Srikakulam district.

Visakhapatnam: The crime wing of city police arrested two brothers for theft and recovered 664 grams of gold jewelry from them on Monday. They were involved in 21 property offences spread over many police stations in the region.They were identified as Ragolu Satyam (43) and his younger brother Ragolu Krishna (35), both natives of Talada area under Santhakaviti mandal in Srikakulam district.

Giving details of the case in a press conference, ADCP (Crimes) S Varada Raju said that Satyam has a criminal track record and was arrested by the Santhakaviti police in connection with the attempt to murder case and a Dossier Sheet has been opened against him in the same police station limits. Both Satyam and Krishna have committed twelve burglaries and also involved in nine cases of snatching valuables from sleeping persons in the past one year under Gajuwaka, Duvvada, Parawada, Pendurthi and Bheemili police station limits in the city.

The police said that in some cases, they managed to gain access into the houses by opening the door latch by putting their hand through the window located adjacent to it and burgled valuables when the inmates were asleep.A special team led by Inspector of Gajuwaka (crimes) K Pidapunaidu and SIs N Ashoka Chakravarthy and SK Sharif arrested the brothers when they were moving under suspicious circumstances.During the investigation, the brothers confessed to have committed the property offences. The police recovered 664 grams of gold jewelry worth Rs18 lakh and investigating the case to recover some more stolen property.
