Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu distributed bicycles to girl students studying class nine in various government schools at a programme conducted at ’A Plus’ convention hall here as part of the ‘Badikosta’ programme on Monday . Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the government had decided to distribute 1.82 lakh bicycles to girl students studying class 9 in the state at a cost of Rs 75 crore.

The CM said that social justice is possible only when the girl children are educated and recalled that the former CM and TDP founder president N T Rama Rao strived for equal property rights for women. Naidu further added that TDP had encouraged women to join politics since the party was formed.

The CM inquired about the hobbies of the class 9 girl students while interacting with them. He also peddled the bicycle with the girl students on the occasion. HRD minister Ganta Srinivas Rao, Marketing and Warehousing minister Adi Narayana Reddy, ZP Chairman Gadde Anuradha, MLC Rama Krishna, MLA Anitha and others were present on the occasion.
