Medapadu(East Godavari): AP minister for Rural Development , Panchayat Raj and IT, Nara Lokesh observed that rural development is the key for overall development and that is why he had chosen rural development ministry .

Addressing the gathering at Medapadu village in Peddapuram Assembly constituency in East Godavari on Tuesday, he said that all the villages in the state will be provided with CC roads in the next two years along with other basic amenities.

He complimented the solidarity and integrity of villagers of Medapadu which won ‘Panchayat Raj Swashaktikaran’ award at national level for overall development of the village. Lokesh also said that unless the people stand united such rewards are not easy to achieve. The minister visited the underground drainage system which was taken up on pilot basis and also the vermicompost unit taken up under solid waste management in the village.

Turning his attention towards IT sector the minister assured one lakh jobs in the next two years. He recalled the development of the sector under TD government in Hyderabad, and said that he intends to develop IT in AP on similar lines.

Commenting on industrial sector Lokesh assured five lakh jobs in the next three years. He quoted some development in this front including the car project cleared for establishing in Chittoor district. He also took credit for round the clock power supply into the state and the cash incentive to more than 10 lakh SHG groups in the state in the form of capacity building.

Lokesh who is on his maiden visit to East Godavari after taking charge as minister sought reciprocation form audience particularly women for each point he mentioned during his speech.

Deputy CM, N Chinarajappa, Kakinada MP, Thota Venkata Narasimham also spoke. AP Legislative council chairman Reddy Subrahmanyam, district collector H Arun Kumar and others attended.
