Tirupati: Dr Y Haribabu took charge as fourth Vice-Chancellor (V-C) of the Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University (SVVU) here on Tuesday. Before taking charge, the new V-C offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara Swamy replica at varsity office. Speaking to the media on the occasion, Haribabu said that he will focus on research and extension activities of the SVVU.
“My immediate priority is to develop the healthy cattle to increase milk yield which is useful of farming community,

” he added. The V-C recalled that he hails from Chittoor district and former student of the Veterinary College at Tirupati. He assured of improving quality in academic activities and administrative work at SVVU. He expressed his gratitude to the state government for recognition of his merit and appointing him as V-C. SVVU Registrar Prof Ganga Raju, Director (extension) Dr Srinivasulu, Veterinary Dean Dr Chandrasekhar Rao, teaching and non-teaching staff have greeted V-C with flower bouquets.
