Preserve heritage and culture
In-charge collector Dr M Hari Jawaharlal called upon the people to preserve the heritage and culture and historical monuments. The In-charge Collector flagged off and participated in the rally to celebrate the World Heritage Day organised by the tourism department from Jewett Memorial Baptist Church to the meeting venue at ABM College here on Tuesday.

Hari Jawaharlal said that that culture and historical buildings and monuments are our pride.
He said that the ancient Buddhist site at Chandavaram, Museum in Kanaparti, Ramayapatnam, Church in Ongole are major heritage sites in the district. District tourism officer M Nagabhushanam said that Prakasam district is home to many historical places. The Malakonda temple, Bhaiarvakona are places of heritage, he added. Moses Sadanandam, principal of ABM College, said that the college has a glorious past.
Stalwarts like Tanguturi Prakasam, Daggubati Ramanaidu had studied in ABM College. Assistant director of I & PR M Venkateswara Prasad, district tourism board member Ravi Chandra and other officials of tourism, STEP and Collectorate also participated, along with students from various colleges.
