VMC releases heat wave action plan
The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Public Health Department has prepared ‘Heat wave action plan’ to protect people from sun stroke this summer. The civic body also decided to distribute ORS packets to people free of cost to protect them from sun stroke and arrange ‘Chalivendralu’ across the city. The VMC has printed a large number of pamphlets and posters and will distribute them in the city.

VMC chief medical and health officer M Gopi Naik said on Tuesday that VMC has distributed wall posters, flexies to people to create awareness on the harsh summer and protective measures to be taken to avoid sunstroke. He said the sanitary staff would distribute about 4000 heat wave action plan posters to the people.
He mentioned that the people should avoid drinking alcohol in summer and avoid going outside during mid-day. “People should avoid drinking roadside food, non-vegetarian food this summer and suggested to eat fresh vegetables and fruits,” he added.
