Addressing a press meet at IMA here on Thursday, he said that IMA Central Working Committee meeting was held at Kolkata on April 15 and 16 mainly to discuss on the attacks on hospitals and doctors.

The IMA had decided to hold Black Ribbon Day on April 27 in protest against the attacks.He said that doctors across the country will tie a black ribbon in protest against the attacks on the doctors and the hospitals on April 27. He said that an orthopedic surgeon was attacked at a hospital in north India and the surgeon lost his vision in the attack. He said that there were many attacks in the recent past on the innocent doctors.

He said that on approaching Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda, a special law, was brought to force to protect the hospitals and doctors on duty.He further stated that as per IMA standards, a doctor had to attend a patient for at least 15 minutes to examine and treat the patient. But contrary to the IMA standards, a doctor was attending 20 patients in an hour.
