Amaravati: While ruling out creation of new districts, Deputy Chief Minister K E Krishnamurthy has said the government has accepted the proposal to create 18 new revenue divisions in the state. Krishnamurthy said that after getting detailed reports from the District Collectors the government will take further action on forming the new revenue divisions in addition to the existing 51.

The main intention of the government in creating new revenue divisions is to resolve the people`s grievances in a speedy manner and to bring the governance to the reach of common people, he said, scotching the rumours that the government is proposing to create new districts.

“There is no such proposal before the government,” he clarified in a press note.To provide revenue services more efficiently to the people of urban areas, the government has also decided to create nine new urban mandals across the state, the Deputy Chief Minister said. Necessary measures are being taken on establishing the offices in the new urban mandals, he said.
