An IAS officer of 2009 batch, Kartikeya was director of department of Industries of the state, prior to the new assignment. The current collector H Arun Kumar is posted as special secretary in Women and Child Welfare department.

A rumor that either director of state ports V Prasanna Venkatesh or Rajamahendravaram municipal commissioner, Vijayarama Raju would be appointed as joint collector, is making rounds. The incumbent, S Satyanarayana has been promoted and posted as district collector Kurnool district few days ago.
