As many as 250 sheep died and 50 were injured as a mulberry shed collapsed on them due to gusty winds at Durgada in Gollaprolu mandal, on Saturday. Two shepherds were also injured in the incident.The injured shepherds were identified as Kapelaswara Papa Rao and Uggirala Thammaiah. The duo along with six others had been grazing the sheep when the gusty winds started.

Pithapuram: As many as 250 sheep died and 50 were injured as a mulberry shed collapsed on them due to gusty winds at Durgada in Gollaprolu mandal, on Saturday. Two shepherds were also injured in the incident.The injured shepherds were identified as Kapelaswara Papa Rao and Uggirala Thammaiah. The duo along with six others had been grazing the sheep when the gusty winds started.

All the eight moved the sheep into a nearby shed that collapsed on them. The shepherds were shocked as the incident foiled their plans of selling the sheep in a few days. The loss was estimated to be Rs 20 lakh. RDO Raghu Babu and Tahsildar B Jaya inspected the collapsed shed and assured the shepherd’s problem would be taken to the notice of government. He also said that he would strive for special package to thegusty winds TDP leaders S V Ravi Varma, Bavirisetti Rambabu and others consoled the sheep farmers.
