Nellore: Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman A S Kiran Kumar exhorted officials of the administration department to play a key role on par with scientific community in satellite launches. He participated in annual service excellence awards function at M R Kurup Auditorium at Satish Dhawan Space Centre here on Friday. He presented awards to 30 employees of the administration department for the years 2013, 2014 and 2015.

Speaking at the meeting, the ISRO chief asked the employees to strive hard as the launching of satellites would increase in future from SHAR. The ISRO would also recognise the services of administrative staff and give them excellence awards every year, he added. For 2013 year, Sk Zenda Abdul Aziz, P Ram Prasad, Y Gowri Sankar, K Ramaiah, V Ramurthy, M Krishna Reddy, P Brahmanandam, K Lokaiah, D Kanthamma and D Ramaiah Reddy were given awards.

A Kanthilal, Samsheer Khan, K V Ramana Babu, S Ramesh Kumar, R S Sandhya, M Rajendra Prasad, K Deva Sahayam, B Harish Chandra Praveen, Syed Abdul Rahman and R Ramana Reddy were given awards for the year 2014. S Narasimha Rao, T Ramanjaneyulu, K Sreenivasa Rao, V Vikaraman, Kishore Kumar Panda, K Rajyalakshmi, A Chandrasekhar, V Mohan Rao, M Prasad Reddy, P Namah Sivayam were given awards for 2015. Later, the ISRO Chairman visited the 1st launch pad and inspected the works of PSLV C-38, and works of GSLV F-09 at 2nd launch pad. He also checked the works of GSLV Mark-03. SHAR Director Kunhikrishnan, Controller J V Raja Reddy and others were present.
