Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh police today arrested a computer professional from Hyderabad for allegedly posting a picture on social media which projected the state legislature in a derogatory manner.

Ravi Kumar, who works in Hyderabad, allegedly posted a picture of the legislature building on a social media platform. Photographs of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh were also inset within it.

TDP MLC, T D Janardhan, had asked the legislature secretary to lodge a police complaint.

Tulluru police in Guntur district arrested Ravi Kumar this morning under section 292 of IPC (circulation of obscene material) and relevant sections of Information Technology Act, said the Superintendent of Police Narayan Naik.

The arrest comes against the backdrop of Telugu Desam government's recent decision to crack down on derogatory posts about the government and the party on the social media.
