Visakhapatnam: Mukul Saran Mathur of 1988 IRTS batch assumed charge as the Divisional Railway Manager, Waltair Division, here on Friday as the present DRM Chandralekha Mukherjee has been transferred as Senior Deputy General Manager to the Northern Railway, New Delhi.

Mukul Saran Mathur joined Indian Railway Traffic Service as an officer in 1988 and thus acquired 26 years of professional experience in railway operations, commercial and infrastructure planning. He also worked as head of Asia-Pacific Region of International Union of Railways for almost five years and also worked on the international projects with the United Nations and ADB.

He is instrumental for planning and execution of high speed train project between Mumbai and Ahmedabad and in setting up of a rail regulator. After taking the charge, the new DRM said that he would further strive for the development of the division with the help of the workforce.
