Krishna district Zilla Parishad Chairperson Gadde Anuradha on Saturday conducted a review meeting with the Mandal Parishad Development Officers (MPDOs), officials of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), District Water Management Authority (DWMA) and Rural Water Supply (RWS) on district development activities, along with Collector B Lakshmi Kantam, at a private hotel in the city.

Vijayawada: Krishna district Zilla Parishad Chairperson Gadde Anuradha on Saturday conducted a review meeting with the Mandal Parishad Development Officers (MPDOs), officials of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), District Water Management Authority (DWMA) and Rural Water Supply (RWS) on district development activities, along with Collector B Lakshmi Kantam, at a private hotel in the city.

Anuradha discussed with all the department officers on development and welfare schemes' implementation in the district. She shared her opinions about the development of Krishna district.The Zilla Parishad Chairperson instructed the officials to speed up the development and welfare schemes in the district. She directed the several department authorities to prepare planning for the development and welfare schemes' implementation in the district. The review meeting's main motive is to overcome problems in implementing the schemes and surpass all the obstacles, she said.

“Welfare schemes are being implemented and some of the mandals have achieved nominal results while other mandals had gained good results”, she felt. Moreover, she suggested officers to pay attention on issues like pensions, loan redemption, NREGS, rain harvesting pits, toilets construction, farm ponds, ‘Chandranna Baata’, school playgrounds development and others. Later, she urged the officers that the Zilla Parishad assets should be protected.

She asked the officials to provide fencing wherever they notice assets under threat.Collector B Lakshmi Kantam said that every officer should participate in 90 days programme of Neeru–Pragathi everyday in any village. He informed all the officers to involve all Parliament Members, MLAs, MLCs and other people's representatives in this programme.He further said that 50,000 check dams and 25,000 farm ponds would be constructed in the district. The government officers should create awareness on check dams and farm ponds, he said.

Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Scheme (MGNREGS) workers would be increased to two lakh from the present one lakh, he added.The Collector announced that grading would be given according to performance basis and all the officers would ready to work and prove their talent. Later, he reviewed the progress of DWMA, RWS, Housing and DRDA works from the MPDOs and other officers.Zilla Parishad In-charge Chief Executive Officer (CEO) NVV Satyanarayana, Panchayat Raj superintending engineer (SE) Suryanarayana, RWS SE Srinivasa Rao, DWMA project director D Chandra Sekhar Raju and others participated.
