One dies due to sunstroke in Kollivarigudem village
A 22-year-old daily wage worker died due to heat stroke while attending works under National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS), in Kollivarigudem village, under Guntupalli Panchayat in Kamavarapukota mandal in West Godvari district, on Friday.The district administration took up various works under NREGS in Kamavarapukota mandal.

On Friday morning, Jangumilli Ramesh went to work as usual but fell unconscious while in work. Other workers rushed him to a hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead. The Guntupalli villagers and NREGS assistant project officer M Swarnakumari conducted his last rites. Kamavarpukota mandal parishad development officer G Raj Manoj said he had directed all the workers to attend work from 6 am and complete the work by 10 am to avoid the heat wave and suggested that the workers to carry buttermilk and water with them.
