Visakhapatnam: The YSR Congress opposed the government’s directive to Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of APIIC for allotting 115 acres of land to Frigerio Conserva Allana Private Limited at Ramannapalem village of Makavaripalem mandal in the district for establishing a World Class Integrated Food Processing Complex with an investment of Rs 160 crore in two phases with an employment generatio
Visakhapatnam: The YSR Congress opposed the government’s directive to Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of APIIC for allotting 115 acres of land to Frigerio Conserva Allana Private Limited at Ramannapalem village of Makavaripalem mandal in the district for establishing a World Class Integrated Food Processing Complex with an investment of Rs 160 crore in two phases with an employment generation for 750 persons directly and for 1,000 indirectly.
Party district president Gudivada Amarnath said here on Friday that Allana Group's business is to supply meat and related products of cows and buffalos to about 85 countries, including Gulf and European countries. He alleged that when the people of Utttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Odisha states had thwarted the attempt of the Allana Group for setting up the same industry there, the governments had refused giving permission. Furthermore, it had to close down its industry which was set up in Maharashtra succumbing to the pressure by the people, he pointed out.
He said that the company has chosen the remote Ramannapalem village in the district to encash the innocence of the people. He also flayed the local public representatives for their initiative in granting necessary permissions.Amarnath felt that the setting up of the industry in the guise of food processing unit will contaminate the ground water table and the people would suffer from number of health problems with the release of hazardous gasses from the industry.
The neighbouring villages like Rachapalli, Dharmavaram, Venkatapuram, Subhadrayyapalem and Erakannapalem would be affected and appealed to all the likeminded people to oppose the unit.
