Visakhapatnam: Two Army T-55 tanks were given to Sainik School, Korukonda, at a function held on the school premises here on Saturday.Vice-Admiral HCS Bisht, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command, who is also the chairman, Local Board Administration, Sainik School Korukonda and Lieutenant General KG Krishna, (retired), an ex student of the school, who retired as the Director General Military Intelligence, Indian Army, dedicated the two T-55 Tanks to the school.
The tanks were received from Kirkee in January 2017 as a result of consistent efforts of the old boys and the school management. The dignitaries felt that the cadets would be motivated and the display would further the primary mission of Sainik School to prepare the boys academically, physically and mentally to enter the portals of the National Defence Academy, Pune.The event was also graced by Bimla Bisht, Usha Krishna and Commodore K S Noor.
The dignitaries were also briefed about the major projects coming up in the school by its principal Col Rudrax Atri. The dedication ceremony was attended by the entire staff and cadets of the school.
