Yemmiganur (Kurnool): A couple Ramalingamma and Pedda Naganna of Chinna Maarivedu in Gonagandla mandal have donated a total of 122 cows worth Rs 10 lakh to Kasireddy Nayana Ashramam at Rampalli in Tuggali mandal on Saturday.
Ramalingamma parents Lakshmamma and Bajari of Kampadu in Belagal gave her a cow when she was married 70 years ago. She multiplied the cow to 122 cows. The married couple have been rearing the cattle since then. Now, their livelyhood has become a problem for them as the 11-acre land they posses turned barren.

The couple has a joint family of four sons and their spouses and children. The family decided to donate the cattle as it became difficult to feed the cattle. Earlier, they approached temples such as Srisailam and Mantralayam for accepting the donation. The temple authorities turned down the offer as they felt it would be hard for them to feed the cattle. Villagers appreciated the decision of donating rather than selling the cattle.
