Govt is playing with the lives of people: YSRCP
The YSR Congress Party Kurnool Assembly segment in-charge, Hafeez Khan alleged that the Telugu Desam Party is playing with the lives of people by supplying polluted drinking water. He along with fellow cadres visited the Summer Storage Tank 9SST from where drinking water is being supplied to the people of Kurnool.
Kurnool: The YSR Congress Party Kurnool Assembly segment in-charge, Hafeez Khan alleged that the Telugu Desam Party is playing with the lives of people by supplying polluted drinking water. He along with fellow cadres visited the Summer Storage Tank 9SST from where drinking water is being supplied to the people of Kurnool.
Later speaking to this correspondent on Sunday, Hafeez Khan said the government has failed in ensuring chlorinated water supply. The water stored at Summer Storage Tank has turned green in colour and polluted. Without chlorinating the water the district administration is lifting water from Gajula Dinne Project. The water has to travel a distance of 70 kilo meters to reach the SS Tank. Prior reaching to the SS Tank, the water is being polluted by the animals, he said.
After filling in the SS Tank the water without chlorination is being supplied to citizens. By drinking the water several people have developed health disorders. Even the water is also not being supplied continuously; it is being supplied once or twice in a week. People have to keep awake the entire night to get a pail of polluted water. He demanded answer from the concerned officials, who will pay responsibility if the people’s health gets deteriorated.
Hafeez Khan said that YSR Congress Party is going to organize a protest in front of collector office condemning the government’s ill attitude and its failure to overcome drinking water crisis. He said that YSR Congress top cadres would be participating in the protest and urged the people to participate in huge number and make the rally and protest a grand success.
