Addressing the meeting, Adinarayana Reddy said that the state government is committed to development of villages on all fronts. He instructed the officials to implement the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) effectively in the district. The Minister asked officials to spend at least Rs 100 crore under the MGNREGS so that the government can release more funds.

He stressed on the need for better coordination between elected representatives and officials for effective outcome of welfare schemes in the district. Referring to the Neeru-Pragathi programme, the Minister directed officials to ensure its effective implementation. District Collector T Baburao Naidu said that 30 days are enough as against the allocation of 90 days for Neeru-Pragathi, if officials speed up works. AP Civil Supplies Corporation Chairman Linga Reddy and other officials were present.
