Two girl students, Dhatri and Thanjala hailing from poor families have proved their mettle by excelling in the national-level Indian Talent Test 2017. The talent test was conducted by Mumbai-based International Educational organisation on December 5, 2016 and final round on February, 2017. Dhatri secured 7th rank and Thanjala 9th rank at state-level. Ranks were announced three days ago.

Tirupati: Two girl students, Dhatri and Thanjala hailing from poor families have proved their mettle by excelling in the national-level Indian Talent Test 2017. The talent test was conducted by Mumbai-based International Educational organisation on December 5, 2016 and final round on February, 2017. Dhatri secured 7th rank and Thanjala 9th rank at state-level. Ranks were announced three days ago.

Highlights:

  • Hailing from poor families, Dhatri and Thanjala secured state-level ranks in the national-level talent test
  • Both of them are students of the TTD-run Kodandarama Swamy High School at Tirupati
  • The TTD EO appreciates students for proving their mettle at state-level

Both of them are students of the TTD-run Kodandarama Swamy High School here. Dhatri is studying 7th standard and her father is private electrician and Thanjala is student of 9th class and her father a small vendor. To excel in talent test, teachers provided them with free material and books and also gave them special training after school hours. School principal K Geethanjali was instrumental in students appearing for the talent test.

Along with these two girls, a total 18 students from same school have received 22 gold and silver medals.
About 199 school students have appeared for talent tests. In which, 69 students were qualified for first round and from them 45 were selected for final round. Out of 45 students, 18 have bagged 22 gold and silver medals in the Indian Talent Test 2017.Recently, TTD EO D Sambasiva Rao invited Dhatri and Thanjala to his chamber and appreciated them. He announced several incentives to provide encouragement to students.

The EO directed other TTD-run school managements to adopt such good practices. Speaking to The Hans India, headmistress Geethanjali said that she want to give coaching to her school students so that they can compete with corporate schools. “We have been identifying students, who can prove themselves at state and national-level tests with constant encouragement,” she added.
