Kovvuru: Excise minister KS Jawahar said that the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was giving highest priority to the girl child education in the state. He was speaking at ‘Badikosta’ programme conducted here on Sunday. He distributed bicycles to girl students in PMMM (Murthy Raju) high school on Sunday as part of ‘Badikosta’ – a free bicycle distribution scheme introduced by the state government. Speaking at the programme, the minister said that the government has decided to distribute bicycles free of cost to the 9thstandard girl students to encourage them to attend the classes regularly. Besides the bicycles distribution, the government is providing the uniform, mid-day meals, drinking water and basic amenities in the schools.

The minister called on the girl students to utilise the various government schemes implemented for their education.
Municipal chairperson Jonnalagadda Radha Rani, vice chairman D Raja Ramesh, RDO B Srinivasa Rao, JVS Chowdary, Potru Srinivas, mandal president Vadavalli Rajyalakshmi, vice-president K Satyanarayana, deputy educational officer G Williams, mandal education officer J Kempu Ratnam, school headmistress Gangabhavani and others participated in the programme.
