Visakhapatnam: Elaborate arrangements have been made for the smooth conduct of the annual festival of Lord Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy of Simhachalam temple on April 29, said HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, while reviewing the arrangements in the presence of MLA P Vishnu Kumar Raju and Palla Srinivas, Commissioner of Police T Yoganand, Collector Pravin Kumar and executive officer of the temple P Ramachandramohan Rao, here on Sunday.

Later taking to the reporters, he said unlike previous years, importance would be given to the general public and cut down the VIP passes. Commissioner of Police said the entire hill and the temple areas have been divided into sectors and teams under senior officers’ supervision, who will be present to address all issues, such as traffic, crime, law and order problem and emergency situations. He said they will impose traffic restrictions at Simhachalam on April 28 and April 29 in view of annual festival.

The police official said they will not allow any vehicle to atop of the hill on that day. Vehicles coming from Gopalapatnam and Vepagunta towards Simhachalam will be allowed up to Goshala and vehicles coming from Hanumanthavaka and Sontyam areas will be allowed up to Adavivaram only.He said 75 CCTV cameras would be installed and RTC would be deploying special buses to carry the devotees. Around 65 NGOs, scouts and guides would assist the temple authorities in streamlining the devotees.
