Srikakulam: Beach sand mining company, Trans World Garnet India is violating labour laws outrightly charged its staff and workers union representatives. They staged half naked agitation in front of Collectorate on Monday under the aegis of CITU to take necessary action against the management. Speaking on the occasion the staff and workers union honorary President T. Tirupathi Rao, President, Y.Janardhan Rao and General Secretary, B. Appala Raju said total 300 workers have been working in the company at Yallapeta, Sathivada and Atchannapalem in Gara mandal for the last 13 years.

The company is not implementing minimum wages, Provident Fund, Employee state insurance (ESI) facility, accidental insurance scheme and safety norms. If any worker questioned they are subjected to harassment by the management. ‘We submitted our charter of demands several occasions but management is intentionally neglecting it’ they alleged. Later they submitted a memorandum to district collector, K. Dhanunjaya Reddy.
