Vijayawada: A Venkata Reddy, Deputy General Manager of the Syndicate Bank, assumed charge as Chairman of the APGB here on Monday. He hails from Kadapa district. Venkata Reddy is a post graduate in M.Sc (Agriculture) from Agricultural University in Hyderabad and passed CAIIB from Indian Institute of Bankers.

He joined Syndicate Bank in 1985 as Rural Development Officer (RDO). He worked in different locations in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh as RDO, Branch Head and in Administrative Offices as Marketing Officer, Chief Manager and Assistant General Manager (AGM). Later, he had handled exceptionally large branches as AGM in Bengaluru.
He has got exposure to agriculture, rural lending, MSME, retail and corporate advances. He also worked as Regional Head in Mysore and Vijayawada as Deputy General Manager before joining as APGB Chairman.

The existing Chairman D Sampath Kumar Chary has been promoted as General Manager in Syndicate Bank and repatriated to Sponsor Bank. APGB Officers Association General Secretary KV Siva Reddy, APGB Employees Association General Secretary A Suresh and APGB SC & ST Welfare Association General Secretary K Chandra Mohan Rao felicitated both the Chairmen.
