He said laws should be changed under the purview of Islamic principles. He said the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind had started national level campaign to create awareness on the Muslim Personal Law and triple talaq issues.Nusrat Ali presided over the meeting conducted by Jamaat-e -Islami Hind, Vijayawada unit, at a hotel to create awareness on the Muslim Personal Law. Muslim clerics, advocates and representatives of various Muslim Organisations attended the meeting.

Addressing a gathering, Nusrat Ali said that there is misconception among the Muslims and Non-Muslims about the important subject of triple talaq. He said Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, one of the biggest Muslim Organisations, has taken up the campaign across the country from April 23 to May 7 to create awareness on the Muslim Personal Law.

He said Shariat Application Act was framed in 1937. He underlined the need to change some rules in the Shariat Law in order to resolve the problems being faced by Muslims in the present society.He said the Jamaate Islami Hind will conduct district and mandal level meetings till May 7 and will open counseling centres to settle the disputes between the couples.

Muslim Advocates Association president M Jawahar Ali, has said the Triple Talaq issue will come before the Supreme Court on May 11, 2017. He said the Supreme Court had set up a bench to look into the issue of Triple Talaq and Muslim Personal Law. He hoped the Supreme Court would find an amicable solution to the Muslim personal law and disputes related to Triple Talaq.

He said women’s rights must be protected and divorce cases should be settled under the purview of law and as per the Constitution of India. He said the Law Commission would do justice to Muslims. Imdadulla Hussain Nizami, Convener, Muslim Personal Law Awareness Campaign, AP, and others spoke on the occasion.
