Guntur: MLA and TDP district president G V Anjaneyulu came down heavily on MLC Somu Veerraju for making allegations in the sand distribution. He said that the TDP government is distributing sand for the construction of houses to the poor and development works. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is appreciating the development works taken up by the TDP government, but Soma Veerraju is flaying the TDP government, he lamented.
Addressing a press meet here on Wednesday, he said that if they found any irregularities, he has to inform the government, but should not criticise the government. He said that the BJP ruled states are also not distributing free sand to the people and reminded that state government has already took stern action against sand mafia.
He said that the TDP government has taken steps to reduce corruption in the government. He called upon the people and opposition parties to become partners in reduction of corruption in the state. He recalled that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu introduced an app to take feedback on welfare schemes from the people. He said the government is committed to the welfare of the people. He said though the government is facing financial crunch, it is paying compensation to the chilli farmers and purchasing turmeric through Markfed, he pointed out.
