Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishnamurthy made a surprise visit to Tahsildar office here on Wednesday. He was accompanied by Joint Collector C Hari Kiran and Kodumur MLA Mani Gandhi. He inspected the staff attendance, land and revenue records. Krishnamurthy found signatures of staff in the attendance register but they were not present in the office during his visit
Kodumur (Kurnool): Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishnamurthy made a surprise visit to Tahsildar office here on Wednesday. He was accompanied by Joint Collector C Hari Kiran and Kodumur MLA Mani Gandhi. He inspected the staff attendance, land and revenue records. Krishnamurthy found signatures of staff in the attendance register but they were not present in the office during his visit. Krishnamurthy asked Tahsildar Nityananda Raju about the staff strength and later took him to task for not having control over.

He warned to take stringent action against Tahsildar if he does not mend his attitude. Later, the Deputy Chief Minister inspected the revenue records and found irregularities. Krishnamurthy said he had received several complaints from the residents of Kodumur that they were unable to get works done despite approaching the office on several occasions.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the residents of Kodumur are submitting petitions related to land and revenue issues in the weekly grievance day. He also took Surveyor Jayaram to task and warned him to mend his ways and discharge duties with utmost responsibility. Several land survey complaints were registered at the Collectorate, he added. Krishnamurthy suggested bringing to the notice of higher officials if he is unable to resolve the issues.
During his surprise visit, he also met the victims of a fire mishap and extended Rs 8,000 each to four families. The Deputy Chief Minister assured the people of Kodumur for resolving drinking water scarcity. Drinking water to Kodumur would be drawn from Gajuladinne project, he stated.
