n view of heavy rush for the annual Chandanotsavam of Lord Lakshmi Nrusimha Swamy of Simhachalam temple, the city traffic police imposed traffic restrictions from 10 pm on April 28 to 12 midnight of April 29.ADCP (Traffic) K Mahendra Patrudu said that the vehicles of the devotees will not be allowed on the hill.
Visakhapatnam: In view of heavy rush for the annual Chandanotsavam of Lord Lakshmi Nrusimha Swamy of Simhachalam temple, the city traffic police imposed traffic restrictions from 10 pm on April 28 to 12 midnight of April 29.ADCP (Traffic) K Mahendra Patrudu said that the vehicles of the devotees will not be allowed on the hill. Devotees have to park their vehicles at the allotted parking lots and have to board the free bus services of Simhachalam Devastahanam at Adavivaram Junction and Old Goshala Junction to proceed to Simhachalam hill.
Devotees on their own vehicles coming from Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, Madhurawada, Bheemili, Venkojipalem and a few other places through Hanumanthawaka BRTS Road, have to park their vehicles at Adavivaram Junction. Similarly, devotees coming from Anakapalle, Gajuwaka, Gopalapatnam, Pendurthi, NAD, Kancharapalem and a few other areas through the Gopalapatnam petrol bunk route, have to park their vehicles at Old Goshala area.
The temple authorities will be provided AC bus (mini buses) services to the devotees who purchased Rs1,000 tickets for festival from Adavivaram and Old Goshala Junctions to proceed to the temple. Devotees having valid vehicle passes have to park their vehicles near Galigopuram, back side of the Yatri Nivas on the hill top. Movement of heavy vehicles on the main road between Gopalapatnam Petrol Bunk and Simhachalam foothill will not be permitted for the convenience of devotees. These traffic restrictions will be in force from 10 pm on Friday to 12 midnight on Saturday, the ADCP said.
