Later, speaking to the media, Somireddy said that he had instructed the officials to complete the process of registration of stocks within 10 minutes.He had instructed the officials to provide necessary facilities like drinking water and other facilities in the yard for the farmers.He said a certificate issued by the local agriculture officer or horticulture officer is enough to sell the chillies at the yard.

He said there are 30 lakh bags of chilli stocks with the farmers and assured that the government will purchase all the chilli stocks from the farmers and pay compensation of Rs 1500 per quintal to them. He further said that the government will purchase chilli stocks till June 30 and added that in case of need, the purchases will continue beyond the specified period.
He urged the farmers not to bring additional stocks immediately and wait for some more time.

He pointed out that when the supplies are more, the traders will offer lower price. He said the government is ready to open some more counters in the state to purchase chillies from the farmers to reduce pressure on the Guntur Mirchi Yard.
He warned that if the officials commit any irregularities or demand bribes from the farmers for issuing certificates, he will take stern action against them.

He urged the officials to issue necessary certificates to the farmers to sell their chilli stocks because they are in financial crisis. He pointed out that the government is also purchasing turmeric from the farmers. He urged the farmers to avail the facilities provided by the government and derive benefit.

He said the government will purchase chilli stocks kept in the cold storage units by the farmers and pay compensation. He said chilli production increased by 19 per cent in the state. Marketing Minister Adi Narayana Reddy said that the government released Rs 50 crore for purchasing chilli stocks from the farmers. He said the government is purchasing red gram and turmeric from the farmers to extend a helping hand to them.

He felt that there is a need to increase cold storage units in the state. He assured that he will take steps to improve facilities to the farmers at the Mirchi Yard.Minister for Social Welfare Nakka Anand Babu and Guntu Mirchi Yard chairman Mannava Subba Rao were also present.
