He inaugurated the ‘Neeru-Pragathi’ works at Dibbaguddi Valasa in Bobbili mandal and said that they will continue the Neeru-Pragathi’ programe for ninety days to conserve water and increase ground water level.

Bobbili (Vizianagaram): Minister for Mines and Geology RVSK Ranga Rao said that the government is according top priority for water conservation. He inaugurated the ‘Neeru-Pragathi’ works at Dibbaguddi Valasa in Bobbili mandal and said that they will continue the Neeru-Pragathi’ programe for ninety days to conserve water and increase ground water level.

He said that the tanks would be developed and a check dam would be constructed here with an expenditure of Rs 20 lakh. “We will spend Rs 45 crore this year and construct around 395 check dams across the district. The main aim of the government is to protect natural resources and provide water to agriculture.

We should join hands to save natural resources, soil, environment. If we successfully complete the project here, more water can be stored in the tank and even the wells, borewells also will be recharged as the ground water level will be increased,” he pointed out. Collector Vivek Yadav, DWMA project director P Prasanthi and others were present.
