Chittoor: AP Brahmins Welfare Society president C V Subba Rao asked Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to fulfil the promises made to Brahmin community during elections. He demanded that the state government should sanction lands and funds for the construction of the Brahmin Bhavans in each district. Speaking to The Hans India here on Thursday, Subba Rao gave a call to Brahmins to play a key role in the politics to protect community interests.

He thanked the Chief Minister for establishing the Andhra Pradesh Brahmin Welfare Corporation for welfare of the Brahmins. But, the objective of setting up corporation did not serve the purpose, he added. Rao said several Brahmins did not receive the benefits from the corporation due to apathy of officials concerned in the last two years.

He urged the Collectors to review the functioning of the corporation once in a month so that genuine beneficiaries are benefitted. “I would visit all the districts and create awareness among the Brahmins to make use of welfare schemes meant for them,” he said. Brahmin Welfare Society leaders P Hanumantha Rao, C Mangapathi Rao, G L Narasimha Rao, C Anjaneya Prasad, R Srihari, P Varalakshamma and others were present.
