Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) vice-president N Tulasi Reddy alleged that both Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy were betraying the people of Rayalaseema districts on setting up of the Andhra Pradesh High Court in Rayalaseema and development of Rayalaseema districts with special grants.

N Tulasi Reddy talking to media persons at the APCC office here on Thursday said the High Court should be set up in Rayalaseema as part of the Sri Bagh agreement reached in 1937 by leaders of Andhra and Rayalaseema regions.
He further stated that the leaders were also not trying to get funds for the development of Rayalaseema districts as per the State Re- Organisation Act.

He said only Rs 150 crore were allocated to four districts against the Rs 3,500 crore to be sanctioned as per the State Bifurcation Act. He said backward regions of Koraput- Balangir and Kalahandi districts of Orissa were getting funds from the Central government, but the backward Rayalaseema districts were being neglected.

He also reminded that the government failed to set up Steel Plant in Kadapa district as per the AP State Re-organisation Act. He said Opposition leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy was not talking about the setting up of Steel Plant under the auspices of Steel Authority of India (SAIL).
