Cong govt acquired farm lands without paying compensation
As part of Neeru-Pragathi programme, Local legislator BV Jaya Nageswar Reddy on Thursday went on a whirlwind tour to Gonegandla, Nandavaram and Yemmiganur mandals. He directed the officials concerned to supply Gajuladinne project water to the villages of Gonegandla.
Yemmiganur (Kurnool): As part of Neeru-Pragathi programme, Local legislator BV Jaya Nageswar Reddy on Thursday went on a whirlwind tour to Gonegandla, Nandavaram and Yemmiganur mandals. He directed the officials concerned to supply Gajuladinne project water to the villages of Gonegandla. He inspected tanks and trenches while visiting H Kairavadi, Ganjihalli, Guvvaladoddi and Ponakaladinne villages.

The MLA criticised the then Congress government for cheating farmers by acquiring 360 acres of land from them without providing compensation. Participating in a Rachabanda programme at Mitta Somapuram in Nandavaram mandal, he said the village should be supplied with irrigation water from Tungabhadra for 1,200 acres of land. He also inspected Guru Raghavendra Lift Irrigation works in Kanakaveedu. He was accompanied by irrigation officials, Chief Engineer Narayana Reddy and Superintendent Engineer Chandrasekhar.
