Rajamahendravaram: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) director general R P Thakur said the state government was going to bring a new law that would facilitate sale or use of the properties recovered during raids conducted by the bureau.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Thakur said the government was framing rules for the new law in which it would seek permission from special court to use the huge properties recovered in disproportionate assets cases within a month for the purpose of constructing a hospital or any other welfare measures.

He said the government can even sell the property using this Act if the accused is convicted. In case of acquittal, the government can purchase the property at 5 per cent of total value. He said that the new law would come into force within one month and the government had obtained legal advice on it.He said that ACB was going to have its own buildings in all the 13 districts in one year and construction of office in Rajamahendravaram would begin in a month.

According to him, office construction in Tirupati was completed and office in Eluru and Vizianagaram would be opened this month. In other places, it would take another eight-nine months.On filling vacancies in the bureau, the DG said that there were 50 per cent vacancies in Rajamahendravaram circle and in the state it would be around 30 per cent. “All all vacancies will be filled in a month,” he said.
