Andhra Pradesh Customs Commissioner SK Rehaman was transferred to GST in New Delhi. He has been appointed as Additional Director General of GST of Central Board of Excise and Customs. He will represent the GST at national- level. Central Excise and Service Tax Audit Commissioner D K Srinivas (Visakhapatnam) will act in-charge in place of Rehaman.

Rehaman served as Customs Commissioner of Andhra Pradesh for two-and-a-half years. He made efforts for allotting of four acres of land near the city to built state office to the customs department and the foundation stone was also laid to the new building during his tenure.Rehaman introduced reforms in administration and motivated customs staff towards providing best services. The Union government has recently presented Bureau of Indian Standards (I S 15700:2005) award to Vijayawada customs office. He also demonstrated good performance in achieving revenue targets.
