Plea to make Jagan deeksha a success
YSRCP MLA Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy on Friday appealed to the people to make the deeksha to be taken up by party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy in Guntur district on May 1 and 2 a success. Jagan is taking up the deeksha in protest against Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for not fulfilling the loan waiver and support price to farmers.
Vijayawada: YSRCP MLA Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy on Friday appealed to the people to make the deeksha to be taken up by party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy in Guntur district on May 1 and 2 a success. Jagan is taking up the deeksha in protest against Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for not fulfilling the loan waiver and support price to farmers.
Addressing the media here on Friday, he said growers of chilli, turmeric and black gram had suffered heavy losses as they were not given support price.
The government, which promised to offer an extra price of Rs 1,500 per quintal for chilli had deceived the farmers.
He wondered why the Chief Minster failed to set up price control fund with Rs 5,000 crore. The TDP which came to power by the support of farmers had failed to address their problems. The farmers would teach a fitting lesson to Naidu by participating in good numbers in the deeksha of Jagan, he added.
