Heavy rains lash East Godavari

Pithapuram: Heavy rain lashed Pithapuram, Tuni, Gollaprolu, Rampachodavaram and many areas of the district on Saturday bringing respite to people from the sweltering heat. The sky was overcast with dark clouds. The people of the town enjoyed themselves the change in atmosphere.

Cool breezes swept across the region bringing relaxation to the people. Because of the heavy rain, the roads were flooded and drains overflowed. Hailstones accompanied the rains at many places. In Gollaprolu, children were seen gathering hailstones. Roads, including the main road, in Ambedkar Center, Church Centre Market in the town were flooded.
