MP Butta Renuka reviews Central schemes
District Infrastructure Scheme Advisory (DISHA) Committee president and Kurnool MP Butta Renuka asked the officials to make effective use of Centre-funded schemes for the uplift of downtrodden sections of the society. The MP participated in the DISHA committee meeting held at Conference Hall in the Collectorate here on Saturday. She reviewed the utilization of funds for 2016-17 with officials.

The MP participated in the DISHA committee meeting held at Conference Hall in the Collectorate here on Saturday. She reviewed the utilization of funds for 2016-17 with officials.

Addressing the officials on the occasion, Renuka said centrally sponsored schemes require proper implementation as she had received several complaints from villages. People from rural villages are migrating to urban areas in search of livelihood, she stated and added officials should generate work under the NREGS. The MP made it clear that officials concerned should not wait for the consent of Janmabhoomi committee members for identifying the beneficiaries for centrally sponsored schemes.
She lamented that Rs 180 crore sanctioned under Special Development Package were kept pending for the last two years. District Collector S Satyanarayana said Rs 61 crores were sanctioned for clearing last year pending bills. Replying to water scarcity, the Collector stated water is being supplied through tractors for villages. Panyam MLA Gouru Charitha Reddy informed the MP and Collector that several bills pertaining to NREGS works and individual latrines are pending and those need immediate payment.
Dhone MLA Buggana Rajendranatha Reddy and Nandikotkur MLA Isaiah also reviewed various issues. DRO Gangadhar Goud, DRDA Project Director Pulla Reddy, Zilla Parishad CEO Eshwar, Irrigation SE Chandrasekhar Rao, Municipal Commissioner Ravindra Babu and other participated in the meeting.
