Akhila, Silpa stick to their guns over Assembly seat

Amaravati: The TDP top brass has begun consultations with the claimants of the party ticket for the Nandyal Assembly byelection in a bid to end the stalemate. Party president and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has entrusted party AP president K Kala Venkata Rao to deal with the issue.

Venkata Rao on Saturday held a one-to-one meeting with Tourism Minister Bhuma Akhila Priya and Silpa Mohan Reddy, claimants of the ticket.

Akhila Priya forges sentiment over the death of his father and sitting MLA from the particular segment Nagi Reddy to secure the ticket for someone from within the family while Mohan Reddy plays loyalty card.

Both of them stuck to their guns even as Venkata Rao at the party head office in Guntur gave the two leaders a patient hearing.

Later, he had another round of consultations with Naidu at his residence along with Akhila and Mohan Reddy. Union minister YS Chowdary and municipal administration minister P Narayana also took part in the consultation process.
