Kakinada: A responsive way of grievance redressal mechanism was initiated by East Godavari district collector Karthikeya Mishra in the process of ‘Meekosam’ grievances redressal, here on Monday at the collectorate. Separate arrangements were made in the collectorate to receive representations from the aged and the disabled by making some modifications in various wings and providing drinking water and medical facilities during this process.
The new collector could impress upon the petitioners, as the petitioners were allowed to sit right in front of the collector and their grievances were heard without any contention.The collector directed the project director, DRDA, to submit a detailed report on pending applications from the aged, the disabled for sanction of pensions and also directed the municipal commissioner, Kakinada to initiate an action for provision of houses to people living in peripheral areas of the city.
In this connection, the collector directed the officials to pay personal attention to solve the grievances in a meaningful way and to submit Action Taken Reports by Thursday. He also requested the officials to have field visits frequently to interact with beneficiaries directly.
