Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said on Monday that housing facility should be provided to every worker and the managements should extend cooperation in this regard.He said of the total 2.5 crore workers in the state, 85 per cent of them were working in unorganised sector. He said the managements should concentrate on housing facility to workforce by next May Day celebrations as the state govt is ready to extend support.

Participating in May Day celebrations in Vijayawada, the Chief Minister said that there should be mutual cooperation between the managements and workforce to achieve more production. Chandrababu Naidu said that the state government introduced Chandranna Bima scheme for the benefit of workers in unorganised sector. He said under the scheme, the govt received 44,469 claims and settled 34,252 claims by paying Rs 170 crore as compensation.

The Chief Minister said the Chandranna Bima scheme would be extended to 27 lakh people working under NREGS and all the welfare schemes being implemented for the unorganised sector workers will be extended to the NREGS workers.
Stating that he is the first worker of the state, the Chief Minister said that he should be felicitated first as he is working day and night for the development of the state. He said that the state govt would protect the interests of both the workers and management and introduced laws for their benefit.

Naidu said that the state govt introduced online registration system for the convenience of managements and to bring about transparency in administration. Likewise, several Acts were enacted for the welfare of workforce.Earlier, presiding over the programme, minister for labour and training Pitani Satyanarayana stressed the need for better coordination between workforce and management for the development of the country.

The Chief Minister presented Srama Sakthi awards to 64 workers and best management awards to 29 persons and felicitated them.Minister for Water Resources Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao, Vijayawada Mayor Koneru Sridhar, ZP chairperson Gadde Anuradha, MLC Dokka Manikya Varaprasad, MLAs Gadde Rammohan, Bode Prasad, Principal Secretary of Labour and training Neerab Kumar Prasad, Panchayat Raj Commissioner Ramanjaneyulu, District Collector B Lakshmikantam and others were present.
